What is it like to be somewhere it’s just you and me? Under a sky of a billion stars, standing on a cliff, with a raging sea below. The waves clashing against the boulders sticking out of the water.
The wind blows so hard it sweeps me off my feet and into your strong arms. You hold me tight. I feel the warmth of your chest against mine, and I know I’m safe. I’m home.
In that embrace, the roar of the ocean fades into a distant hum. I smell the salt water on the wind, sharp and cold.
The world below us may be tearing apart, but in this moment between earth and the stars, I’ve never known stillness like this. This is the home I’ve been missing all my life.
I close my eyes and lean in closer, burying my face in your chest. I listen to the steady beat of your heart, pounding stronger than the waves crashing below us.
This will be one of the million moments I hold on to.
This is the wish I made when I blew out the candle.
Forever yours,
Lovie
