I hide the sadness when I see you walk away. I hide the tear that forms in the corner of my eye when you say that one word.
Without you, I feel like a tree without its leaves. Bare and empty.
I try to cover the sadness with a smile. I may look like sunshine, but without you, I’m a cloudy day. Nothing seems to go right when I can’t hear you say that one word that starts our day.

When I’m with you, I’m the sunshine spilling over the grass and over flowers of every color. Purple, pink, blue, yellow, and red.
