Someday I’ll know what it’s like to say the words I love you, and it won’t be to my family. It’ll be to you.
I know those words get said a lot. By so many people, so often, that they can lose their meaning over time. But when I finally look you in the eyes and say I love you, they’ll be my oath to you.
So I’m holding these words close to my heart. Like a secret I’ve never told.
When I do share it, I want the world to stop around us. All the noise to fade. I want it to be a moment you never forget. I know I’ll cherish it until the end of time.
I don’t want it planned, though. There’s something about a messy moment. When I love you just comes out, by fate. And I won’t be able to apologize for it, because I’ve been holding on to it for way too long.
